From time to time, we could all benefit from having a safe, nonjudgmental person to talk to. Meeting with a qualified therapist provides support and motivation to express thoughts and feelings and make positive changes. If you or someone you love is in need of a place to work through past or present difficulties or prepare for a more focused future, counseling can help. I treat adults, couples, and families, and strive to help all clients achieve the growth and progress they seek.

I am a licensed mental health counselor with over 17 years of experience as a therapist and 20 years in the field of psychology and mental health. I am a 5th generation Floridian and primarily live and work in Southwest Florida, but I also spend considerable time in my "other hometown" of Brevard, North Carolina. I have full licensure in both Florida and North Carolina. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida where I conducted neuroscience research and graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors in Psychology. With my undergraduate degree, I worked in an inpatient psychiatric hospital for adolescents and adults in direct inpatient care for 3 years. I went on to obtain my Master of Arts(M.A.) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida. I studied a large range of psychiatric and emotional issues while working in inpatient and outpatient settings. I became a fully licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in 2010 after supervised training working with adult and child victims of abuse at the Children's Advocacy Centers in Daytona Beach, FL and Ft. Myers, FL. I began private practice counseling in 2010 and founded Progress Counseling, LLC in 2012. Although I have extensive experience working with clients of all ages, I currently focus only on adults and couples. I still frequently use my experience, training, and certifications in child and adolescent therapy to support and educate parents. I also thoroughly enjoy guiding young adults who have just graduated high school and are finding their footing in the working world or venturing off to college. I have additional special interest in using parts work and attachment education to empower individuals and couples to heal themselves and their relationships. I am neurodiversity, LGBTQ+, and diversity affirming, and am actively anti-racist, sex positive, and accepting of all religious and spiritual belief systems. You are safe to be your whole and true self with me. I am a Certified Family Trauma Professional, Certified Brainspotting Practitioner, Certified Leader for the Gottman Seven Principles of Making a Marriage Work, and I am Florida Board Certified as a Telehealth Practitioner. I am also fully trained in Exposure and Response Prevention for the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I have additional training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and am Level 1 and 2 trained in the Gottman Method for Couples Counseling.
Counseling is my passion and it is my honor to serve individuals and couples in need of my services.
